Succulents: Amazing Additions to your Garden - San Jose

  • Berryessa Branch Library - Community Room 3355 Noble Avenue San Jose, CA, 95132 United States (map)

Succulents make amazing additions to a garden. Their shapes, colors, flowers, and textures can add variety to any planting bed or container. And, because they come from semiarid regions with irregular rainfall they are great drought-tolerant plants for Bay Area gardens. UC Master Gardener Kathleen Heckler will tell us how to care for succulents, both in landscapes and in containers. She’ll cover what the water and sun requirements are, how to propagate them, their pests (how to recognize them, how to deal with them) and dormancy. After the talk, we’ll have our seed and plant exchange, so if you have any seeds or plants you’d like to share please do bring them.
