Tired of a thirsty, high maintenance lawn? Join Master Gardener Nirmala Rajesh as she discusses the attributes of a traditional lawn, what factors to consider when replacing a lawn, and the best ways to remove your old lawn. Then she will talk about various replacement alternatives that are drought tolerant, low maintenance, and provide wildlife habitat.

After the talk members of our Native Garden Team will be available to answer your questions and showcase native plants and shrubs as alternatives to a lawn

Note: We recommend that visitors wear closed-toed shoes, layered clothing and a hat, as the class is held outside in our Pavilion. A refillable water bottle, notebook and writing implements are handy. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to park and sign in.

The park charges $6.00 for parking, or park closer to our parcel on Chynoweth Avenue near Vauxhall Circle for free.
