MRDG Worms the Fun Way to Compost

Location: McClellan Ranch Preserve, community garden area, 22221 McClellan Road, Cupertino, CA 95014

Host: UC Master Gardeners

Description: Turn your kitchen scraps into “Black Gold”!

Worm composting is a neat, easy, and odorless way to recycle food and some paper waste into nutrient-rich plant food. It can be done indoors, on the patio, or in the yard. You’ll have your own supply of worm castings—a nitrogen-rich soil amendment that will make your indoor and outdoor plants thrive! Join UC Master Gardeners Terry Andre and Jennifer Donaich for a live demonstration on how to assemble a worm bin, and they will share the secrets of worms and their magic. A great family activity—children are welcome!
