Container Gardening for All Reasons

Location: Rinconada Library, 1213 Newell Road, Palo Alto, CA 94303

Host: UC Master Gardeners

Description: Would you love to grow some vegetables but your in-ground area is too shady? Would you like to brighten up your patio or deck with some lovely flowering plants? Wouldn’t it be nice to have less weeds to pull and better control over your planting area? These are all good reasons for gardening in containers. Master Gardener Martha Carpenter will explain what’s different from gardening in the ground and how to be a successful Container Gardener. Types and sizes of containers will be discussed along with soil, fertilizer, water requirements and pest control. Come and learn everything you need to know to get started.
